Job Purpose: Wazen is searching for a motivated Accounting Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. Accounting Assistants can expect to assist the Accounting department with data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, and preparing budgets and reports. You should be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills. To be a successful Accounting Assistant, you should have an understanding of basic Accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as MS Excel or Quickbooks. You should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.


  • Prepare bank reconciliations, general ledger postings, and financial statements.
  • Prepares, reviews, and processes revenue, expense, payroll, and related correcting entries and prepares bank reconciliations.
  • Constructs routine spreadsheets, prepare financial data for input into finance systems, and generates reports; performs calculations.
  • Coordinates the preparation of regularly scheduled invoices, cost reports, debt analysis, inventory reports, and Asset management.
  • Reviews expenditure, personnel, and purchasing documents for the availability of funding, mathematical correctness, and compliance with the company.
  • Interacts with department staff regarding finance policies and procedures and funding requirements.
  • Invoice processing and filing.
  • Processing expense requests for the accountant to approve.
  • Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
  • Track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting


Minimum 1-2 years of experience

Intermediate level in the English Language
Excellent computer skills (MS Office & Video conferencing software)
Familiarity with Accounting systems
Knowledge of Accounting best practices
Ability to communicate well and work as a team
